ATI Launches Merlin - New Technology Linking Family Services Documentation and the Electronic Management of Learning

TUCSON, AZ/Jan. 2003 - Assessment Technology, Inc. (ATI) a leading provider of early childhood and K-12 assessment systems and technology based learning products, announces the release of a customizable, advanced family services documentation program called Merlin. With Merlin and Galileo, educational leaders gain increased capabilities and new efficiencies eliminating double data entry. This advancement makes it possible for users to manage multiple reporting requirements including learning outcomes and family services documentation on children, families, staff, and volunteers in one complete system.

Merlin for use with Galileo provides educational leaders up-to-the-minute data for decision-making with the capability of cross-filtering assessment data and case management information. Early childhood programs can generate reports at child, class, center, agency, and multi-agency levels.

“We’re proud to introduce Merlin for use with Galileo as part of ATI’s complete EML (Electronic Management of Learning) solution,” states John Bergan, President of Assessment Technology, Inc. “ATI continuously responds to the needs of educators with innovative products that meet state standards, federal requirements, and local program needs.”

Merlin’s user-friendly customization allows programs to determine their own knowledge management needs and design forms appropriate for both local management and federal review with speed and flexibility. Merlin includes many templates to document information such as health services, family support services, and pre-enrollment tracking. For programs wanting additional assistance building forms to suite their specific program needs, ATI offers help through their Form Development Services.

Merlin for use with Galileo also provides the electronic version of the Program Information Report (PIR). PIR data is required on a yearly basis by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families Administration on Children, Youth and Families. Information entered relative to children, family, staff and volunteers can be aggregated from these forms producing the electronic PIR. This information can be edited if desired and submitted to meet government reporting requirements. Merlin’s Form Builder makes it easy for programs to meet changing government reporting requirements.

ATI provides secure data with automatic back-ups daily, features a multi-level password protection system, and information encryption. Software updates are available through the Internet, meaning programs don’t need to install or maintain on-site software and database systems.

ATI was founded in 1986 with the goal to create and support the use of technology to promote learning and family development. Merlin is the company’s most recent addition in a long line of powerful products. To order or learn more about ATI products and services, please visit our web site at www.ati-online.com.
